Soil Test
A good soil test gives you the specific nutrient needs of your garden so you do not waste time and money on the wrong fertilizers. By carefully testing your soil, you can find out the specific needs of your garden, assuring that each crop gets exactly what it needs to grow and yield to its fullest potential. It is also an important tool in identifying possible pollutants and or contaminants that may cause your body harm when consuming your garden crop.
Farmer D Organics offers three specific soil tests designed to identify soil traits for three separate categories of interest.
Nutrients
The first test is a standard soil test that identifies the nutrient traits of the soil for purposes of preparing the soil for planting.
Lead
The second soil test identifies the presence of lead in the soil.
Biological Contaminants
This soil test investigates whether or not your soil contains harmful bacteria due to standing water, sewage contamination, and or any other potential biological contaminant brought in from the surrounding environment. The two tests primarily used to check for contaminants are the sewage test and the ecoli test. With these two tests, a sample must be brought in and sent out within a 24 hour period.
