In the News>>>Farmer D Bio
Forget any stereotype of the farmer you may hold. Let go of any notion of the humble rustic in overalls of yesteryear and even the jacketed corporate farmer of today. Farmer D is an entirely new brand of farmer. With a thumb more “green” than any of his predecessors. Daron ‘Farmer D’ Joffe, is the future’s farmer. He’s a firebrand out to repair the world – one oxygen-emitting plant at a time.
He lives to make a difference in the world. He farms because of a passion for the earth and the biodynamic methodologies that can save it.
He consults about organic farms and gardens in order to share his joy and vision.
But lest you think Farmer D is just another greenie with a love of turning the soil, make no mistake about it – Daron Joffe is out to help his clients turn a profit. Developers are people, too. You’ll get no attitude from Farmer D. And no animosity. Developers, after all, are Daron’s squash and potatoes. And they are many – developers of residential communities, resorts, spas, corporate campuses, college campuses, therapeutic retreat centers, golf courses, country clubs. These are the many entities Farmer D approaches not with condemnation, but explanation – about just how the implementation of green technology and best management practices for building and land management can simultaneously diminish the negative environmental impact of development and improve the bottom line for the developer. Born in South Africa in 1976, Daron Joffe has traveled the world and farmed the nation and he does have a vision: to turn landholdings of all types to organic management practices that save money, conserve water and fuel, reduce waste and chemical use, promote sustainability, and create a healthier planet for all. When you start your own business at age 14, it’s amazing how much you can accomplish by 30. As one who has a list of credentials as long as one of his manicured rows of squash, Farmer D was selected as one of the top 20 under 40 by Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles Magazine in its February 2006 issue and one of the top 40 under 40 by Georgia Trend Magazine in October 2006. |
